And I'm Frightened by Those Who Don't See It

I have an advising meeting in about 2 hours.

Where I will discuss and plan my senior year of College, and graduating and stuff.

It could really either go one of two ways. The great way or the awful way.

Because of a curriculum change in the department we are now only required to have one cognate instead of two. Unfortunately the one that was cut is the one I'm almost finished with. The great, ideal, amazing way would be if my doesn't-matter-anymore-communications-cognate would substitute for my mish-mash-of-crap-I-don't-care-about-like-pottery-and-philosophy-cognate. Then I would have a ton of free time to take things like stage combat and comedy and musical theatre and most importantly, ice skating.

The awful, horrifying, heartbreaking way would be that my useless-waste-of-my-time-communications-cognate would not matter and I would have to spend my entire senior year taking I-passed-this-in-high-school-religion-classes-and-ps-who-is-religious-these-days-seriously?-classes. Which would mean no stage combat. Or Ice skating. Or happiness.

I am going Ice Skating today. And I am thrilled. I lugged my skates around with me. I found myself wondering if they counted as a concealed weapon as I sat on the bus. I mean, you saw what Tom Hanks did in Cast Away. And that girl who got hit in the head with a toe-pick.

In other news I have found a ton of new music I LOVE. Except I downloaded so much of it at one time that I can't give the proper attention to each one that it deserves. Right now I am listening to a band called Gorilla Manor. I like it.

I find that I am really drawn to quotes. Quotes from songs. I make them my facebook status and rarely give credit to the artists. Is that plagiarism? I just had to open up a word document to learn how to spell that.

Here are a handful of quotes I won't make my facebook status because it might just be too whiny.

"I am holding half an acre torn from the map of Michigan. I am carrying this scrap of paper that can crack the darkest sky wide open, every burden taken from me, every night my heart unfolding, my home." Half Acre by Hem.

"I have been here before, and I know the way. But love seemed sweeter and sure in the light of the day. Now I have been here before though I know I am lost." Leaving Me Here by Hem.

"It sounds like we would have had a great deal to say, to say to each other. I bet when I leave my body for the sky the wait, the wait will be worth it." Airplanes by Gorilla Manor.

"I would like to be your girlfriend, so I could dump you. Everyday oughta be a bad day for you." Bad Day by Darwin Deez.

"Oh what big eyes I have. Oh what big teeth I have. Oh what big feelings I have. Oh what big love I have." Are You Devo? by Shelby Sifers.

Also bad news. As it turns out, my hair is too tall for the faux hawk...but no one informed me. I am walking around today like some kid from tool academy.

Yeah. Real Cute.

It is pretty much spring break right now. I have a class at three and work tomorrow, but thats it. I decided to stay here in East Lansing for break. I am cat sitting the most bitchin' cat I have ever met! Seriously, the coolest cat ever. Props to Stanley!

Props. ha.

But I am happy that I decided to stay here. Because I can go home for a little bit, but I have always wanted some time to just be here and not do anything. I am going to clean and skate and swim and work out. And shop a little maybe.

The Seniors have their showcase in NYC this upcoming Tuesday. I saw it and it is amazing! They are all such inspirations to me! I know they are all going to be truly amazing!

Being a senior. Being finished with working towards a degree. After that its up to me to stay motivated. I still have so much to learn in life.
